Al and Pat Watsons Farm

Al and Pat retired from teaching and nursing and now operate a small farm at 690 Country St. in Almonte. Growing a variety of fruits and vegetables that are pesticide and chemical free, they also raise beef cattle and free range hens. In the spirit that started with their community involvement throughout the years, they are now part of our Farmers Market family.

Ashton Naturals

We purchased our farm in 2006, which consists of pasture, cedar forests and wet land. Shawn and Jo'Anne worked hard to build and repair buildings to house our animals. Currently we are working on our fields to make them productive and also to grow our vegetables, which I use to make some of my preserves. Jo'Anne also makes a wide variety of products sweetened with honey, stevia (for diabetics) and sugar. All our animals are free ranging and fed certified organic feed from Bernerland Organic Farm and vegetables from our garden. The meat is processed and government inspected at a licensed abattoir. Location: 247 Glenashton Road, from Ottawa take 417 West, exit Toronto/Carleton Place exit turn left on Ashton Station Rd. and continue through town and keep straight until you reach Glenashton Rd. We are the third house on the left. Production practices: organic methods, members of Canadian Organic Growers, Just Foods Purchasing opportunities: farmgate, Almonte Farmers Market

Dunbrae Farms

Bruce and Janet Duncan are the fifth generation of Duncans to farm their land. Their farm is located on the Appleton Side Road, just outside of Almonte. With strict organic practices, they raise heritage Red Poll Beef, pork, turkeys and free range hens.

Teamwork Community Farm "Maple Lane Farm"

Teamwork Community Farm is at the Almonte Farmers Market on Saturday mornings between 9-12, Mother's Day through till Thanksgiving! Teamwork Community Farm (CSA) provides a full season's worth of fresh certified organic vegetables. Our mission is to empower the community and community members individually through involvement and good eating. Teamwork CSA is operated from Maple Lane Farm in Lanark.

We raise laying hens year round and Tamworth pigs during the summer.  We also have our Belgian and Suffolk Punch work horses, Ben, Jazz and Whinnie.

Hilary Moore started Teamwork CSA 8 years ago and has been farming organically for 12 years, now.  Though Maplelane Farm is not currently certified organic, it is operated in accordance with the certification guidelines.
